Taking care of yourself while on quarantine

Hi! How are you? I hope your safe and doing well.

I just want to send you some positive vibes today and inspire you to use our unexpected free time to take care of yourself, and do the things that will give you joy and relax you while most of us are home right now.

Big hug first! That’s because everyday’s a blessing no matter what’s instore for the day!

So, what makes you happy? What brings you joy?

Is it gardening, baking, reading a new book, playing the guitar, spending time with your loved ones at home or chatting with them via facebook/phone, or maybe indulging yourself with a face masque or a pedi?

Whatever it is that brings a smile on your face and gives you a burst of joy, allow yourself to thoroughly enjoy it. **Just remember to practice social distancing if it’s an activity that needs to be done outside.**

If you are like me who loves going on nature walks, grab your jacket put on your comfy shoes, dont forget to bring your hand sanitizer and goooo and enjoy nature! Park somewhere far but safe enough, away from the busy areas and stay away from crowds and you’ll be fine. The walk will ease your mind and enliven your mood!

Gardening is also very good for you. If you plan on planting new roses for the summer or a fruit tree,or grow a salad bowl now is an excellent time to do it. Being in the garden surrounded by plants and nature relaxes the mind and is a good exercise for the body. Plus you get to enjoy those fresh salad leaves in a month, no need to go to the shop for that.

Do you fancy pampering yourself to a facial masque? I got you covered and you don’t even need to go to the spa for that!

Banana and cream facial mask : All you need is 1 very ripe banana and half a tablespoon to 1 tablespoon of cream. Mash the banana in a small bowl using a fork and just enough cream to make a paste. *This is good for most skin types except oily skin*

Wear a shower cap, put a towel under your neck and lie down. Gently spread the creamy banana mixture on your face. Relax for 30 minutes. (Listen to your favorite spotify album or maybe an audiobook if you like!) Rinse off with warm water.

I know things feel very new and weird right now. But hang in there, we’ll all get through this and things will be better soon.

We just got to be strong together, stay home and stay safe. You’ve been through a lot before my friend and you’re still here! Remember that!
