My name is Apple Casey. I’m a Natural Skincare Formulator and a hands on mother of three. I’m the founder and creator of My Name Is Apple.
My journey to natural skincare started when I began creating my own natural skincare treatment for my severe dry skin and my daughter’s eczema. Dry skin runs in my side of the family so during extremely hot days and worse during winter season my skin would be so dry that it cracks and bleed painfully. I’ve used so many moisturizers from different brands in the past but nothing really helped me.
My daughter suffers from eczema and she’s been prescribed steroids and moisturizers but they’d only help for a week and then the eczema’s back a few days after.
In my frustration to find a solution to our skin problem, I decided to do some research and find natural ways to treat it. I began reading books about natural skincare and started making my own moisturizers. To my surprise my skin started improving and my daughter’s too. Her eczema started healing and the wounds on her skin started healing too.. My skin isn’t that dry anymore and even if I get bad days, I only need to use my home made moisturizer and my skin would get better again.
Because I was so encouraged with our result, I took a Natural Skincare Formulation course and immersed myself in learning about different natural ingredients and formulating them into something that helps the skin naturally heal itself.
More than 3 years ago, out of nowhere I also suffered from hyperthyroidism, an autoimmune disease which attacks the thyroid affecting the heart, and body’s metabolism. It was a scary time for me honestly. I was advised to avoid stress and take better care of myself and was also prescribed a medicine to control my thyroid.
Knowing I have to change my lifestyle, I incorporated my need to calm down and destress in my skincare. I used calming essential oils and plant oils that nourish the skin to make a multipurpose skincare. It felt so nice, so relaxing and destressing! It made me feel really good!
When I started getting better I thought about sharing what helped me and my daughter with our skin issues and also what help me relax everyday.
And so I created my natural skincare brand My Name Is Apple to give people like me and my daughter a natural option to treat and nourish their dry sensitive skin.
I myself create each product and test them within my family.
I’m not promising you a miracle since not all skin are the same. But I’m offering you an option to use products that are made with only natural ingredients, no harmful chemicals and are ethically produced and tested – All handmade in small batches by me in Offaly Ireland .
